he's finally here!

well, i can finally announce that our grandbaby, braeden thomas hansen, is here. he arrived sunday, april 25 at 11:41 p.m. he weighed 6 lbs 10 oz. and was 19.5" long. he is so beautiful and perfect! he had quite an adventure getting here--he was delivered by emergency c-section. amanda had been in the hospital since thursday; she had eclampsia. it caused her to have horrific headaches and really high blood pressure. she was in a lot of pain for a couple of days while the doctors decided what to do. finally on sunday night her blood pressure was so bad that they were afraid she was gonna have a stroke and lose both of them, so they decided to do a c-section right then. we left immediately for dallas and got to meet braeden when he was four and a half hours old! as soon as he was born amanda was feeling better, and she's doing just fine now. it was a pretty scary time for them and for us! we are just so glad that everyone is okay. we got to stay almost a week up there; amanda's parents graciously let us stay with them. it was so fun to be there! we had a great time and enjoyed spending time with adam, amanda, and little braeden. we loved on him and held him as much as we could. we are now having withdrawals and may have to run up there again for the weekend sometime. i'll post some pictures for you to see. he is awesome and we are so glad he has come and blessed our family.
